Homeschool organizations trust us with student records, family contacts, and payments. Here is how we keep that information safe, in plain English.
Where your data lives
Hosted in the United States
Your data is stored in a secure data center in Virginia, on Supabase for the database and files and Vercel for the application.
Encrypted
Data is encrypted in transit with TLS every time it moves between your browser and the platform, and encrypted at rest where it is stored.
Backed up daily
The platform database is backed up automatically every day for disaster recovery.
Who can see it
Kept separate from other organizations
Every organization’s data is walled off from every other organization at the database level, not just hidden in the interface.
Role-based access
Administrators, staff, instructors, parents, and students each see only what their role allows. Instructors see their own classes; parents see their own family.
Two-factor sign-in
Accounts can use an authenticator app for two-factor sign-in, and it can be required for an organization’s staff.
Staff access is logged
Our team accesses an organization’s account only to provide support or keep the platform secure. That access is recorded in an audit log, and the organization is notified when our staff make changes.
Payments
Handled by Stripe
Card and bank payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI Level 1 certified payment provider. Card details go straight from the browser to Stripe and never touch our servers.
Your school’s own account
Families pay into the school’s own Stripe account. Homeschool Platform never holds your organization’s or your families’ money.
How we use data
Never sold
We do not sell your organization’s data or your families’ information.
No ads, no tracking
There are no advertising or tracking pixels in the platform, and student data is never used for advertising.
No AI training
Student data is never used to train artificial intelligence models.
Your organization owns its data
Your organization owns its records and decides what it collects. We process that data only to provide the service, and you can export it.

If you think you have found a security issue, email support@homeschoolplatform.com. Please don’t access other people’s data or publicize the issue before we’ve had a chance to fix it.
